What To Do In The Event Of Rain

I was here in the Blue Mountains for the walking and the views. Honestly. But the first two days of my trip proved so rainy and misty that there really was only one thing to do. Shopping. What’s more, it was no ordinary shopping on offer in the towns of Leura and Katoomba. Both towns are jam packed full of a vast array of vintage and antiques. A haven of shops filled with old furniture and cabinets full of all kinds of retro bric a brac and vintage clothes. The shops are filled with such an assortment of objects that they are a delight just to amble around and observe. To flick through second hand penguins and try on endless tweed hats. A perfect way to while away a rainy afternoon.

Equally prevalent around Katoomba are the coffee shops and cafes. There is definitely no shortage of that famous European cafe culture here. What is interesting here however is the wide selection which cater for vegetarians and vegans. Something which I have certainly not seen as apparent in Sydney. On the contrary almost all cafes in Katoomba provide meat free, dairy free and gluten free options.  IMG_0692 IMG_0693 IMG_0694 IMG_0695IMG_0710
